This is Aerial Yoga
Aerial Yoga—also known as Flying Yoga or Air Yoga—combines traditional yoga postures with the lightness of floating. Supported by a soft, sturdy silk fabric suspended from the ceiling, you are supported in your movements. In Flying Yoga, you float slightly above the ground, experiencing yoga in a completely new way. Each pose can flow seamlessly into the next, and the fabric provides you with both support and freedom.
Unlike traditional forms of yoga, Aerial Yoga allows you to play with gravity: sometimes floating and light, sometimes stabilizing and powerful. It invites you to let go, activate your core, and discover movements that often remain hidden on the mat.
Your potential benefits of Aerial Yoga:
- Whole body strengthening: Working in the sling activates deep muscles and strengthens your core.
- More mobility: The cloth support in Air Yoga facilitates stretching and relieves pressure on joints.
- Lightness of mind: Floating has a liberating effect and can relieve stress and tension.
- Playful joy of movement: Your movements in the sling bring lightness, fun and new perspectives to your yoga practice.

Aerial Yoga: FAQ
Is Aerial Yoga good for beginners?
Yes, this style of yoga is suitable for both beginners and advanced practitioners. The slings provide support and stability, allowing you to gently learn even more complex poses. No previous experience is necessary—curiosity and a love of movement are all that's needed.
Who is Aerial Yoga not suitable for?
Air yoga is feasible for most people. However, the following conditions are contraindicated: high blood pressure, elevated intraocular pressure (glaucoma), inner ear disorders, taking blood-thinning or anticoagulant medications (ACE inhibitors), an increased risk of thrombosis, and following surgical procedures, epilepsy, pregnancy, and Botox injections within the last 12 hours. If you are unsure, consult your doctor beforehand.
How do I prepare for the Aerial Yoga class?
Wear comfortable, close-fitting clothing (preferably long sleeves and pants to protect your skin) without zippers, and avoid jewelry or sharp objects to avoid getting caught in the Flying Yoga sling. It's best to eat lightly two hours beforehand and bring a water bottle. Avoid perfume, lotion, and tanning creams—the odor and color will linger in the slings. Please also arrive at the studio a few minutes before class starts, as we need to adjust the slings to your height. Your safety is very important to us, so please follow your instructor's instructions carefully.
Is aerial yoga strenuous?
Depending on the level of the class, Air Yoga can be gentle and relaxing or dynamic and challenging. By working with your own body weight, you strengthen your muscles and improve your body awareness – always at your own pace.
