Aerial Yoga
Float like a butterfly in silk fabric with aerial yoga and hatch from your cocoon.
“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.”
Leonardo Da Vinci
What is Aerial Yoga?
Discover a fascinating way to experience your yoga practice from a new and exciting perspective. This involves lifting traditional yoga postures into the air as you flow through your practice using a silk cloth hanging from the ceiling.
This means you entrust your body weight to the aerial yoga cloth and let gravity support you to stay in the positions. Experience the feeling of weightlessness and enjoy the fun of aerial yoga!
Why Aerial Yoga?
Aerial yoga is a wonderful practice for stretching and strengthening your entire body, relieving pressure on your spine, improving your circulation and even digestion.
Above all, aerial yoga is fun. And there's no better way to find out until you try it for yourself!
Other benefits of Aerial Yoga
- Improves core strength and coordination by activating stabilizing muscles that ensure you stay centered with the aerial yoga towel.
- Builds self-confidence as you can use the aerial yoga cloth as support. This allows you to easily perform challenging poses such as inversions that may be too difficult on the mat.
- Through the massage with the aerial yoga cloth and the inversions, toxins are moved in the body and flushed out through the kidneys and liver by activating the lymph.
- Promotes deep relaxation.
There is probably no more beautiful Savasana than floating and swinging in the air.
Turn your world upside down
Inversions make aerial yoga so fascinating and exciting. But what are inversions and why do they feel so good? Any pose in which your heart is higher from the ground than your head is considered an inversion.
Inversion is believed to relieve tension, increase blood flow and energy levels. It is also said to promote emotional growth, calm the mind and soul, direct energy to the heart, and help you feel more connected to the earth. Inversion poses can range from easy to difficult and should be selected based on your experience, strength, health and injury history.

FAQ
Is Aerial Yoga good for beginners?
Aerial yoga is a fantastic new experience even for beginners. This is one of the best ways to learn more about yourself and your body. It's easy to enjoy the class as you engage in the different poses. If you already have experience with yoga, the transition will be much easier because aerial yoga is also based on traditional yoga principles.
Who is Aerial Yoga not suitable for?
You should refrain from taking part in aerial yoga classes if you have the following indications: high blood pressure, increased intraocular pressure (glaucoma), diseases of the inner ear, taking blood-thinning or anticoagulant medications (ACE inhibitors), increased risk of thrombosis and after surgical procedures, epilepsy, pregnancy and Botox injection the last 12 hours.
How do I prepare for the Aerial Yoga class?
Dress similarly to how you would dress for your yoga class. We recommend long trousers that fit to the ankle.
Please remove your jewelry before class and wear clothing free of zippers. They can get caught in the aerial yoga cloth and tear holes.
Avoid perfume, lotion and tanning creams - the smell and color get stuck in the towels. Don't eat large meals two hours before class starts and arrive at the studio a few minutes before class starts, as we have to adjust the aerial yoga towels depending on your body size. Your safety is very important to us. Therefore, follow your aerial yoga teacher’s instructions carefully.
